Due to blockage I cannot effectuate the merger necessary to make Wife of R' Moses HaKohen Katz the daughter of Saul Wahl Katzenellenbogen (1 day King) The source for the datum is Otser HaRabanim # 17957 and # 14771, which is also now posted as a source to Wife of R' Moses HaKohen Katz.

Dear Adam, is the table you sent me on Facebook referring to my great-grandfather (5):

Hagaon Rabbi Isaac Zajdel, Zt"l(of lask&Ropczyce)

And through his mother is he a descendant of Rabbi Shaul Whal And from there to Rabbi Mordechai Yaffe? And if so, was his mother was the wife of Rabbi Nachum of Lask?

Haim Katz - Hachoen Wartski From what I have gathered that is the correct ancestry of your great grandfather Hagaon Rabbi Isaac Zajdel, Zt"l(of lask&Ropczyce) Of course, when it comes to Shaul Wahl and Mordchai Yaffe there are various opinions. What I have is based on various sources, including:

1) https://www.geni.com/photo/view?photo_id=6000000218562646838 and

2) "In the year 5363 (1603), served as the Rabbi of Lutsk one of the greatest rabbis of his generation, HaGaon R' Moshe son of R' Yehudah HaCohen Shapira, grandson of the well known Gaon, R' Yitzchak Shapira, president of the court of the holy community of Krakow. HaGaon R' Moshe, the Rabbi of Lutsk, was the son-in-law of R' Shaul Wahl, the Polish "King," who carried the crown of Poland on his head for one night. There are many legends about this matter in the history of the Jews of Poland, and R' Shaul was undoubtedly the leader, and the "lobbyist," of the Jews of Poland and Lita in that generation. From Lutsk, HaGaon R' Moshe moved to serve as the Rabbi of the Krakow region. He wrote the book, Questions and Answers Maharam[3], which remained in a manuscript and was not printed. There is consent from him on the book, Mekor Chachimim [The Source of Sages], which was printed together with the consents of famous Geonim, the Shelah and Ba'al Halevushim[4]. He passed away in the year 5377 (1617)." https://www.jewishgen.org/yizkor/lutsk1/lut295.html

PS: In the HaKohen "A" Draft at the National Library of Israel, Jacobi asserts that wife of Parnas Rabbi Nachum [of Lask] was married to a Nakhum, and that is all the information given by Jacobi in the draft. So I cannot verify that this Nakhum is the same as Nakhum of Lask, but it seems from your postings in the 'About' section (Rabbi Nachum, zt"l, [ Nagid and Parnas of Lask]) that they are the same person.

Thank you very much from the bottom of my heart, Adam

The information you wrote to me matches the information I found at the time, but I was unable to find a trace of Rabbi Shaul Whal and Rabbi Mordechai Yaffe

I know that my grandfather's mother was their descendant, and I also know that Rabbi Mordechai Yaffe was a descendant through the Zajdel family, but until today - the information you sent me, I did not know all the way back to it
