Hi, I´m trying to find my relatives in USA. Ella Ahonen Duynstee is my grandmothers mother, Tjodina is my mother´s aunt. I´m a finnish teacher from Seinajoki Finland. My mother Maija-Liisa is 82 years old. We don´t know much about Ella´s life in New York. She left her baby girl (my grandmother Helvi) to her finnish relatives in 1913 and moved to USA, where her sister Lydia Ahonen (Mattson - spouse: Frank Mattson) already lived.
Only promising name I have found is Nancy Trees Watts (administrator of Geni family tree). I´have tried to reach her, but not succeed. Can anybody help me? Do you know Nancy or her sister or sieblings. If I have understood correctly, Nancy is my mother´s cousin.
Best wishes from Sari Saloranta, Seinäjoki Finland

Sari,

Hello! My mother is Barbara who is Tjodina’s daughter. She is 81 and lives in Pennsylvania. Her brother Francis died many years ago. Barbara had six children: Lana, Marian, myself, Alan, and twins April and Grace. I was also a teacher and school administrator but have recently retired. Please reach out, as needed! Smiles to you & the rest of our extended family!

I can send you some photos of us and our home, if you like. I have photos of my mother as a child and pictures of Helvi (my grandmother) who is Tjodinas´s half-sister.
i like gardening, outdoor living, literature, arts and traveling. We also have three standard poodles that are nice to go out with. Seinäjoki lies in the western side of Finland, 370 kilometres from our capital city Helsinki. Seinäjoki is a quite small town with 30 000 inhabitants. Climate is moderate. This winter we have had very little snow.
Our family has visited U.S.A several times for example New York, Kalifornia, Arizona and Utah.
Best wishes, Sari

Hi! How are you? Summer is coming to Finland slowly. Blue lilies and white anemones are blooming. The birch buds are opening. The birch blossoms make the whole family sneeze. Last week I had my 60th birthday. Our family had a little party in the forest by the campfire. Next weekend me and my youngest dog are participating in a dogshow. My dog just needs one certifikation and then he will be a champion. Best wishes,
Sari
